Raymond Brown
Software developer, growth strategist, and digital marketing expert. Former startup founder. Philosophy addict. Writing about the things nobody tells you about building businesses.
I'm 23. I started with YouTube. I've gotten channels monetized in less than three months on average using growth strategies most creators never figure out. That taught me how content, audience, and algorithms actually work.
From there I founded a gaming startup. Built the product, built the team, built the vision. Then I lost the passion for it and walked away. That taught me more about entrepreneurship than anything I've ever read. Conviction isn't something you can fake, and quitting the wrong thing is sometimes the most strategic move you'll ever make.
After that I started doing software development, growth strategy, and digital marketing for small local businesses. The kind of companies where one good quarter changes everything and one bad decision can end it. HVAC companies, pest control, plumbing. Businesses that don't have the luxury of burning runway while they figure it out.
I've spent years studying growth strategy. Not the theoretical kind you read in business school case studies, but the real kind. How to get a plumbing company from one city to seven counties. How to build digital infrastructure that actually generates calls. How to compete when you're outspent, outmanned, and starting from zero.
Somewhere along the way, I became obsessed with philosophy. Pragmatism, Nietzsche, Schopenhauer, strategic thinking. Not as self-help, but as operating systems for making decisions when the stakes are real. The thinkers who understood power, will, and consequence before business schools existed.
Hegemon Strategy is where all of that comes together. I write about founders, what makes them succeed and what kills them. I break down businesses, why they win, why they lose, and what everyone else misses. And I filter all of it through the philosophical frameworks that have guided leaders for thousands of years.
This isn't a blog about hustle culture. It's a blog about thinking clearly, building deliberately, and understanding the game well enough to win it.
